Rev. Catherine Houchins, pastor of our sponsor church (MCC of the Blue Ridge in Roanoke, VA) resigned effective January 31, 2007.

It is important for the sponsor church to have a pastor. Since MCCBR is currently without a pastor, it became necessary to examine the independent viability of the MCC SVE church plant extension.

As a result, since the Shenandoah Valley Extension does not currently have the 15 active participants needed to enable it to stand on its own, the MCC SVE will go dormant until such a time when its formation may become more feasible.
